Meet the Instructors

Mike Copp, Head Golf Professional - PGA Class A Professional

Mike is a Class A PGA Member. He joined Poppy Ridge Golf Course in February 2023 as the Head Golf Professional. Mike was born and raised in the Bay Area and has been in the golf industry for 10+ years. He was most recently the 1st Assistant Golf Professional/Instructor at Ruby Hill Golf Club and worked at TPC Stonebrae prior to that.

Mike is experienced in teaching players of all ages and skill levels, and has given over 3,000 lessons in his career. His swing philosophy can be summed up into one word: Simple. Get in the correct posture, have a good grip on the club, and the game will be simple.

John Chester-Bradt, Golf Instructor

John joined Poppy Ridge Golf Course in March of 2021. John has been in the golf industry for more than 20 years; most notably working at Castlewood Country Club, Elkhorn Country Club, Brookside Country Club, Lockeford Springs Golf Course, and as the Director of Instruction at the Reserve at Spanos Park. John has extensive teaching experience with juniors, adults and clinics ranging from the beginner level to the advanced. John’s teaching style revolves around the player and their specific needs, emphasizing a strong desire to improve.
